Turing’s core value proposition is connecting vetted remote software engineers with enterprise clients faster and more reliably than traditional recruiting. The matching platform is what makes that possible at scale.
The problem
Software engineer evaluation is expensive, inconsistent, and slow when done manually. Traditional recruiting relies heavily on human judgment, which doesn’t scale and introduces significant variance. The question was whether AI-driven assessment could produce better signal at a fraction of the cost.
What we built
An end-to-end matching system covering automated technical assessment, ML-based ranking and recommendations, and feedback loops that used outcomes from active engagements to continuously improve match quality.
What I learned
AI-powered marketplace products fail at the trust layer before they fail at the technical layer. The model can be right 90% of the time, but if users experience the 10% and don’t understand why, they stop using the product. Building appropriate explainability was the most important product problem at Turing.
